Flu & COVID-19 Vaccination Service Now Available at Abbey Field Pharmacy

We’re pleased to announce that Abbey Field Pharmacy is now offering NHS flu and COVID-19 vaccinations for the 2025/26 season for patients in Colchester and surroundign areas. There have been changes to eligibility since last year so this article sets out who is eligible for each vaccine and how to book an appointment at the pharmacy. 

Who is eligible for a free NHS FLU vaccination?

You may be eligible for a free NHS vaccination if you fall into one of the following groups:

• Adults aged 65 and over

• People aged 18–64 with certain health conditions (e.g. asthma, diabetes, heart disease)

• Pregnant women

• Frontline health and social care workers

• Carers and household contacts of vulnerable individuals

• Residents in long-stay residential care homes

Who is eligible for a free NHS Covid vaccination? 

For autumn 2025, COVID-19 vaccination will be offered to:

• adults aged 75 years and over
• residents in care homes for older adults
• individuals who are immunosuppressed aged 6 months and over
